Saint Cuthbert is a saint from the early Northumbrian church in the Celtic tradition. He served Christ's church as a monk, bishop and hermit, and was associated with the monasteries of Melrose and Lindisfarne. After his death he became one of the most important medieval saints of Northern England.
Cuthbert is regarded as the patron saint of northern England.
