The CollectO EVERLASTING God, who hast ordained and constituted the services of Angels and men in a wonderful order: Mercifully grant that, as thy holy Angels always do thee service in heaven, so, by thy appointment, they may succour and defend us on earth; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

The feast of Saint Michael and all Angels or Michaelmas is celebrated today. Catholic faith affirms that the Archangel Michael is the greatest of all the Angels and is specially honoured for defeating Satan in the war in heaven. He is one of the principal angelic warriors, seen as a protector against the dark of night and the administrator of divine intelligence.
